seasonal variation

The term 'seasonal variation' as it applies to the area of carbon dioxide can be defined as ' The change in a set of meteorological parameters averaged over three months. Seasonal variation is the largest climate variation, and temperature is the most frequently observed meteorological parameter. Often, monthly averaged data are grouped into seasons, according to the prescribed definition'.
